There’s something magical about tending a fire during a long cook. It’s not just about the food, it’s the dance with the coals, the smell of the wood, the steady rhythm of feeding the fire. Keeping that coal bed alive feels like meditation with smoke. For me, BBQ isn’t just cooking — it’s therapy!
Who else feels the same?

It’s meditative for sure. That’s the real attraction for me.
What model smoker you running? Can’t tell from the closeup vid.

Don’t forget like 14 beers.
It gets ya outside no matter what. I work on wood projects in-between tending the fire. Dogs love it as well being outside with me. My younger one had a rivalry with a chipmunk. All summer long he has eluded her and very entertaining watching her hunt him. Springer Spaniel and I hunt pheasant with them so they are naturals
I hope to get to this level someday. I currently am learning the intricacies of the WSM and I love it, but the final goal is to get a stick burner, but my life and more importantly my wife does not allow for uninterrupted time to tend to a fire.
Can we talk fire management?
The fire you built is larger than what I typically build. I do about 2 sticks wrists sized, whereas you’re doing 5 splits that are about fist sized or larger.
What temp would you have that run at? 275?
How long would a fire last before needing to restock?
How clean is the fire you burn?
Where do you set your stack damper?
I too have a 94 gallon and trying to use bigger wood for longer sessions.
Sing it!!!!
I smell what you’re cookin
r/doublesmoked is even more a vibe 🙂
